Sedation Dentistry

There are people all over Irving. who have dental anxiety. People have put off important dental work for years because of their fear of dentistry. Other patients have a high degree of sensitivity in their teeth and gums and want to avoid that discomfort. If you can relate to either of those types of patients, we have the solution for you: sedation dentistry. Using the time-tested techniques of oral conscious sedation and laughing gas, we can make you feel much more comfortable with any dental procedure.

Oral Conscious Sedation

Oral conscious sedation is a type of sedation dentistry that uses medication to help you relax during dental procedures. The medication will make you drowsy and you may even fall asleep during the procedure, but you’ll be able to respond to questions and follow instructions from your dentist. This a great option for various dental procedures and treatments.

IV Sedation

IV sedation, also sometimes called sleep dentistry, is a type of sedation that is delivered directly into the bloodstream through an IV. This allows our dental professionals to more closely monitor and control the level of sedation, which can be adjusted throughout the procedure as needed. IV sedation is generally considered to be more effective, and it also takes effect quickly. As a result, it’s often used for dental procedures that are particularly lengthy or complex.

Many people experience some level of anxiety or fear when it comes to going to the dentist. For some, this feeling is mild and manageable. However, for others, dental phobia can be so severe that it prevents them from getting the care they need. Sedation dentistry can be a helpful solution for those who suffer from dental anxiety or phobia. Depending on the severity of your anxiety, sedation dentistry can help you to feel more relaxed during your appointment and make it possible to get the care you need.

The Valley Smiles team is driven to provide top-level dental care with a personal touch. We never sacrifice comfort and only want the best for our patients. Contact us to learn more or to schedule an appointment.
